An excuse to get all glammed up!

We were asked to be part of a charity fundraising event for Thundersley Congregational Church which involved Taste being the band for a Charity Ball! Something very different to what we have been doing so far this year!

They wanted some songs from different decades which meant us learning a whole new set list of songs ready for the evening. We also asked two very talented musicians; Dave Scott and Matt Hyde to join us in the band for the evening. Elliemae also came out from behind the sound desk and we were singers together. The rehearsals were sounding brilliant and it was all very exciting!!!

We arrived at ‘The Lawn’ in Rochford ready for a day of setting up and rehearsing before the evening ball. The venue was beautiful and we were given a room to set up in and perform in. After a day of music and fun we were ready to get dressed up!

The night began with a 3 course meal; we were able to spend the meal with some good friends of ours David and Beth Turner! After the meal was an auction where they managed to raise a lot of money by auctioning some brilliant things!

We were next to perform… by this point it was 10pm! We had arrived at the venue at 10am so some of us were beginning to get tired BUT the adrenaline got us going and we began our first set. I was slightly disappointed that not many people were getting up and dancing but within no time there was a full dance floor and we ended up doing the first set all over again at the end due to them demanding for more! Some of the songs included ‘Johnny B Goode’ , ‘Wake me up before you go go’ and ‘Superstitious’ .

It was such an incredible night for an incredible cause; TCC’s Barnabus Project is all about raising funds so that they can build and expand their church in Thundersley. DSCF3761
